Another bumper month for prices

Increase: Average property prices rose by another 0.5 per cent in last month, February, according to the latest report from the Halifax.

Year-on-year prices grew by

10.8 per cent pushing the average house price up to a record high of £278,123. Yorkshire saw 9.8 year on year increase bringing the average house price here to £192,010.

Wales was once again the strongest performing area with annual house price growth of 13.8 per cent. London remains the weakest performing area, though the capital continued its recent upward trend with annual house price inflation now standing at 5.4 per cent, its strongest level since the end of 2020.
