Housing market is still hot, hot, hot

Survey: Predictions of a slowdown in the UK property market in 2022 are already ringing hollow, according to Home.co.uk’s Asking Price Index for March.

It says that the market has accelerated to a blistering pace and prices are soaring. The total stock of property for sale is up slightly but remains low at about half that seen in 2019.

However, there was an average 15pc rise in the supply of properties for sale with the North East topping that chart with 29pc. Prices in Yorkshire rose by 1.3pc in February and by 4pc year-on-year but Home. co.uk say this will be negated by inflation. The typical time on the market in Yorkshire is 50 days.
