Energy-guzzling home appliances

Freemans.com has analysed the average energy usage across a range of popular household appliances to reveal exactly how much each item contributes to our electricity bill.

According to the research, the fridge freezer is the most expensive appliance overall, costing users £43.68 per month or £524.16 per year.

This is closely followed by the desktop computer, which comes in at £11.70 per month, while regularly running the dishwasher is £10.30 per month.

More people are now counting the cost of electricity as gas and electricity bills could rise by up to 50 per cent from April this year.
