VIEWS OVER ILKLEY MOOR

Myddelton Lodge has long range views over Ilkley and its magnifcent moor.

The vast moorland is a site of special scientific interest and part of the South Pennines Special Protection Area.

It is famous for the song On Ilka Moor Baht ’at, the unofficial Yorkshire anthem. It is said the words were made up by members of a church choir on an outing to Ilkley Moor, though the tune was composed by Thomas Clarke, a bootmaker from Canterbury.
