Pedalling toParisto raise funds for charity

Doncaster-based firm iHus is taking part in Pedal to Paris 2022 to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.

iHus, the UK’s leading granny annexe builder, is showing its commitment to the charity and armed forces .

The colleagues, together with hundreds of other competitiv­e and recreation­al riders, will be cycling through England and into the stunning countrysid­e of rural France before reaching Paris

– a gruelling marathon of 460 kilometres.

Trevor Smeaton, Maria Smeaton, Chris Walker, Steve Batty and Tom Gregory will be setting off from the heart of London on Thursday

September 1.

They are hoping to complete the intense route over the following four days while raising funds for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

iHus chief executive officer Trevor Smeaton said: “Pedal to Paris is more than just a cycle

– it’s a truly inspiratio­nal experience for myself and the team.

“This ride will be a real challenge for us but we are committed to achieving our goal while raising funds for this fantastic charity.”

He added: “A huge thank you to all those who have already donated.”

The team have set themselves a goal to raise a minimum of £1,500 each in sponsorshi­p money.

iHus was launched 1i years ago by Mr Smeaton and offers a service that starts with arranging planning permission and ends with people getting the keys to a fully fitted out home.

He and his team operate more than 300 annexes, with demand rising due to lifestyle changes.
