MOTORCYCLING: Michael van der Mark completed an unlikely double with victory in race two of the World Superbike Championship at Donington Park.

The Dutchman, who had claimed his first career win in the first race on Saturday, battled from sixth on the grid to take victory for his Yamaha team.

An action-packed race saw Van der Mark pick off his rivals to pip Turkey’s Toprak Razgatlioglu, who earned his country’s first podium in second place.

Razgatlioglu had himself passed Jonathan Rea on the final lap, leaving the Northern Irishman having to settle for third place.

Rea told Eurosport: “I used a lot of energy and I’m really disappointed with myself. My guys gave me a great bike and the bike was ready to win but I wasn’t.”
