Work required to fix Rovers’ woes

Yorkshire Post - Sports Monday - - RUGBY LEAGUE -

SUPER LEAGUE: Tim Sheens acknowledges Hull Kingston Rovers have a lot to “fix up” but insists his squad remain confident of getting themselves out of trouble.

The Australian admitted his side were in a “damage control” situation during Friday night’s 26-4 defeat to leaders St Helens and is looking forward to trying to put things right on the training field this week before Sunday’s trip to Castleford Tigers.

“I think we had nine sets when we dropped it on the third tackle or earlier – that’s a lot of field position to give up,” said Sheens, with disgraced Wigan star Joel Tomkins expected to complete a move to Craven Park later today.

“I can never fault the players for effort but we have got a lot to fix up. We need to get back to training and work hard.”
