Tigers suffer Cup loss to Worcester
RUGBY UNION: Worcester beat Leicester with a 31-12 victory at Welford Road in the Premiership Cup.
Tries from Ted Hill, Duncan Weir, Francois Hougaard and Bryce Heem helped Warriors to a 26-0 half-time lead as they picked up a bonus-point success.
Tigers registered on the scoreboard in the second half through Gareth Owen’s try but wing Heem quickly extinguished hopes of a comeback with his second.
Worcester are now four points clear at the top of Pool Two, while Leicester, who scored a consolation try through youngster Tommy Reffell, are bottom and without a point.
Elsewhere, Joe Simmonds kicked eight points from fullback as Pool One leaders Exeter defeated Bath 25-18.
Yesterday, tries from Taqele Naiyaravoro and Mitch Eadie gave Northampton a 15-14 win at Wasps, while Newcastle – with tries from Pedro Bettencourt Avila and Ben Stevenson - beat Harlequins 23-21.
