Hasan’s dozen puts Windies to sword

CRICKET: Me­hidy Hasan fin­ished with ca­reer-best Test match fig­ures of 12-117 as Bangladesh thrashed West Indies by an in­nings and 184 runs at Dhaka to com­plete a 2-0 se­ries vic­tory.

The 21-year-old off-spin­ner’s 7-58 saw the Windies skit­tled for 111 in their first in­nings, with only three bats­men reach­ing dou­ble fig­ures.

Shim­ron Het­myer top-scored with 39 and led a stun­ning counter-at­tack after the Windies had slumped to 96-6 sec­ond time around, club­bing nine sixes in his care­free 93 from 92 balls.

His re­sis­tance was even­tu­ally ended when he was eighth man out after mis­cu­ing to long-on off Me­hidy, whose five-wicket haul helped dis­miss the Windies for 213.
