Shaymen hit back to earn replay

Yorkshire Post - Sports Monday - - FOOTBALL -

FA TROPHY: FC Halifax Town produced a stunning comeback as goals from Dayle Southwell and Matty Kosylo took their tie with Solihull to a replay.

The Shaymen looked down and out when Adi Yussuf and Nathan Blissett had put Solihull 2-0 up just before the hourmark.

But the introduction of Cameron King, who set up Halifax’s first goal, helped to turn the tie and Kosylo produced a wonderful free-kick to rescue a draw.

The sides will meet again at Solihull tomorrow night for a place in the third round.

Yussuf had a simple finish in the 47th minute and Nathan Blissett slid in at the far post to convert an excellent low cross from Matty Stenson 10 minutes later.

Substitute King, on his first appearance since December 1, made an instant impact as he released Southwell with a perfectly-weighted through ball, and the striker dinked the ball over the onrushing Ryan Boot.

Kosylo then curled a delightful free-kick into the top corner to complete the comeback.
