BRIGHT IDEAS:
With Claire Hornby
MIRRORS are often the “fairest one of all” within a room, creating an illusion of space and light and adding sparkle and sophistication wherever they are placed.
If a room has a limited number of windows, the addition of a mirror will create dozens of light reflections, instantly brightening up the room.
A grand, decorative mirror would work best in a large, open-plan living room or hallway. Alternatively, a small and sweet magnifying mirror would be ideal in your bathroom. To add an Art Deco feel to a room, choose Barker and Stonehouse’s Adnet mirror. This unique round Italian leather mirror is studded with brass hinges, exuding masculine luxury. For a more glamorous, feminine touch we love the Etched Venezia mirror. Made from baroque, bevelled glass, the mirror oozes sophisticated chic, making it the instant statement piece in any home. For a clean-cut linear finish, we recommend the Francois Ghost mirror in white. The frames are designed for transparency, stealing colours from the Murano glass to create a striking, colourful reflective effect. If you prefer a more decorative style to top your shabby-chic chest of drawers, choose the Arch mirror, hand finished in a classic antique cream with a beautiful intricate design.
Add a touch of charm to your bathroom with the Glam pedestal mirror, double-sided with two different magnifications and sunk into a clear acrylic frame on a chrome stand.
From bedrooms to bathrooms and living rooms to hallways, mirrors in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles can transform rooms into bright and airy spaces, add a touch of glamour or simply reflect the beauty of your home.
