Bespoke furniture with guarantee of excellence

-

IF you thought the art of creating beautiful furniture went out with Chippendale, Delcor, creator of fine bespoke furniture, says you need to think again.

This can be seen at its stunning new showroom where Delcor has brought its unique furniture expertise to Oakwood Business Park in Harrogate.

Delcor has been manufacturing stylish bespoke furniture since the mid 1960s from its showroom and manufacturing headquarters at Seaton Delaval near the Northumberland coast. Under the direction of Rick Petini, managing director, skilled craftsmen continue to create high-quality furniture using the finest sustainable woods and fabrics. Everything comes out of Seaton Delaval – the ideas, the designs, the manufacture, upholstery and covering, delivery and after-care. Customers can even leave their furniture in storage until they need it for no extra charge.

Delcor’s main focus is on sofas, chairs and footstools in a range of designs and coverings. Every piece of furniture is bespoke so clients can mix and match to suit their own individual needs and room designs. All Delcor designs come with a Made in Britain guarantee of excellence and every piece of furniture comes with a 20-year frame guarantee. Furniture is designed to suit all tastes and in Delcor’s showrooms you’ll find something beautiful to suit every room. Traditionalists might prefer the regal Chesterfield design or the Victorian with rounded back and arms, or the sumptuous leather Boxer style. The chaise makes an elegant comeback this season and Delcor has emboldened the design with a deep crimson covering.

Those looking for something more contemporary will love the Milan with tapered legs, or the super cool Prezzo. And for sheer indulgence you can’t beat the Soho – a clever combination of settee and divan so you can sit or stretch out at your leisure.

Choosing the right fabric for your room won’t be a problem, Delcor has more than 10,000 designs to choose from. This season is all about bolder colours from deep reds, mustards, tartans and stripes to mellow limes and neutrals. Broad brushstroke designs are energetic and ebullient making a lively change from plains. Royal colours including noble gold, silver and purple create a sumptuous backdrop for opulent floral and fleur de lys designs. Classic William Morris prints never go out of fashion and look stunning with chaise or love seat designs.

Demand for Delcor furniture has grown to such an extent this year that Rick Petini has gone for significant expansion.

In addition to the newly opened showroom at Oakwood Park, Rick, who bought the business three years ago, has also opened a store in Stamford and recently refurbished the showroom in King’s Road, London. Delcor also has a successful franchise operation in Altrincham. Rick identified Oakwood Park as a perfect location for the new
