Lucky seven in a world of amazing flavours

-

WITH so many delicious cuisines to choose from, sometimes deciding where to go out for lunch or an evening meal can be a difficult decision.

It can become harder still when a family or a group of friends all have different opinions on where to go. Origin 7 provides the perfect location. Situated opposite the Vue cinema, on the first floor of The Light in Leeds, the world buffet restaurant is home to seven different tastes. Chinese and Dim Sum, Indian, Italian, genuine Szechuan, salad and Sushi, British grill and, to round the experience off, desserts, are all on offer.

The buffet restaurant was opened by husband and wife Jerry Dai and Ellen He three months ago, reflecting their love of visiting different eateries and tasting different cuisines.

By pulling together these seven different cuisines diners have the opportunity to delve into their favourite dishes while trying something they have never tasted before.

Every one of the dishes at the seven stations are freshly prepared by a dedicated professional chef who is experienced in that particular cuisine. What’s more, everything on the menu is locally sourced along with all of the beef, chicken, lamb and salmon cooked from fresh - nothing is from frozen.

The restaurant spans three floors and you can choose in which cuisine area to sit. Each of the seven seating areas are decorated to reflect the origin of the food – such as the top hats used as lamp shades in the British grill section. Once seated, just take a plate and begin your dining journey across the globe.

The dishes at Origin 7 are constantly changing, with the evening menus featuring more selections, but with the vast array on offer you will be sure to find many of your favourites.

Downstairs is where the Chinese dishes can be found. Here you can fill your plate with aromatic duck, sweet and sour chicken and Cantonese spare ribs. This is also where the genuine Szechuan section is, a hot and spicy cuisine. Popular dishes that can often be found include spicy chicken, stir fry french beans in a spicy sauce and Chinese style roast pork belly.

The ground floor is home to the salad and Sushi bar, an excellent place to start for something light and tasty. King prawn, tuna and salmon versions, along with vegetable, are all beautifully presented along with a variety of different salads. Across from this is the Indian selection, with popular tastes such as lamb rogan josh, salmon curry and chicken jalfrezi.

You’ll be coming back to this section at the end of the meal for the dessert counter. Along with a mouth watering selection of cheese cakes, seasonal fruits and puddings is a chocolate fountain and ice cream machine.

Venture upstairs and you will find yourself in the Italian and British grill section. Traditional tastes of lasagne, pizzas and Polloi Mama sit alongside a mixed grill of chicken, rib eye and
