BUY­ERS were bowled over by a team of Golly crick­eters at the Vec­tis sale of the Martin fam­ily’s badge col­lec­tion, with four coun­ties at the top of the or­der. A Northants badge top-scored with a pre­mium-inclusive £840, fol­lowed by Le­ices­ter, War­wick and Glam­or­gan, which fetched £696 each, and York­shire, which re­alised £552 – all against pre-sale es­ti­mates of £40-£60. was a 1937 Ge­orge VI Coro­na­tion Golly (£648 against an es­ti­mate of £80£120).Vec­tis spe­cial­ist Kathy Tay­lor said: “Buy­ers were ea­ger to snap up the rare and un­usual vari­a­tions.”
