Shaw Carpets has got quality flooring covered

-

SHAW Carpets, a family business, has grown into what it proudly says is the largest carpet factory showroom in Yorkshire, displaying a massive range of carpets and cushion floors at its 250,000 square foot factory in Darton, Barnsley.

Shaw Carpets is run by brothers André and David Spencer. They take great pride in being at the forefront of their business, ensuring a smooth running of the day-to day activities along with their experienced staff.

David comments: “Our policy is a very simple one and it’s all down to common sense: we look after people the way we would like to be treated. In fact 85 per cent of our business is made up of repeat customers or recommendations. We regularly get customers keen to tell us that they get all their carpets from Shaws and this is exactly the kind of feedback that we love to hear, it reinforces that we are doing a good job.

“Our teams of fitters are experts in their field, however some are better on certain jobs than others so every job is matched to the most suited fitter. We check and measure rooms and stairs and assess anything that may not be straight forward, for example stair lifts or heavy furniture. By doing this it avoids any hiccups and makes the job run smoothly. Our warehouse team cuts the stairs and landing carpet prior to it leaving the warehouse, making it much easier for the fitter to get the carpets in to the house and lay. The fitters are careful and polite and appreciate that they are in someone else’s house and treat it as such.”

Shaw Carpets is a family business with huge buying power so is able to offer you the best of both worlds – a personal service and an unrivalled display of carpets that won’t cost the earth. Stockists of hundreds of rolls from leading manufacturers including Kosset, Abingdon, Westex, Wilton Royal, Shaws can lay out your carpet on the cutting table enabling you to get a good look and feel for it rather than a small six inch square sample/swatch.

Adds André: “Natural tones are still the most popular although we are seeing more interest in colours, in particular grey tones. Stripes are still very popular and we have in stock a top-of-the-range 80/20 wool stripe, which normally retails at £35 but which we are selling for just £20, and is ideal for stairs and landing. New products are being added to the vast range all the time and our latest arrival is Aqua Pro-Tec, a revolutionary new carpet that doesn’t soak up spills – they actually float on top of the pile allowing you to mop up accidents easily.

“Also, we have just taken delivery of a-top-of-the-range carpet, an Abingdon 50oz Wool Twist. It is a very dense pile so it will show very little wear, keeping it looking fresh for many years. It is on offer for just £18.99, including free fitting to The Yorkshire Post readers.

“We are probably the largest stockist of this in the Yorkshire area. The Stainfree brand is put on all Kosset and Abingdon ranges that are bleach cleanable – it
