Create any style you desire with wood

-

FROM refurbishment projects to the blank canvas a new build provides, nothing creates character and timeless style better than wood. As well as being recognised as a material that can blend in with any design scheme, making it a practical as well as beautiful backdrop, people are drawn to its sustainable nature.

When you visit John Boddy Timber you will find that the possibilities are endless. Whether you are looking for an antique or contemporary feel, the expert team at the showroom can talk you through the extensive range and advise on the best wood and effect or finish, such as limed and weathered, for your project.

Oak is the most popular timber for floors and has a vast range of grades and characteristics, from brushed and bleached white to brushed dark fumed. Or perhaps you’re looking for the reddish tones of Bubinga or African Padauk, or the striking look of Zebrano?

All floorboards are end matched, to give a seamless finish and reduce wastage. Because of the structural quality, your floor does not have to be nailed directly over a floor joist, and so can be laid over concrete, plywood or batten and existing joists. Solid hardwood floors are available with FSC or PEFC accreditation assuring your floor is environmentally sound.

If you have under floor heating, an engineered floor is ideal. These are not manufactured on site but have been selected to match the John Boddy pedigree, and give the look of solid hardwood. The top quality ranges include a distinctive bandsawn range and handcrafted character oak range. Floors are hand finished for a traditional aged look and are available in traditional or period colours as well as limed finishes.

All of the timber has been quality checked and graded, meaning it will match doors and skirting. Boddy’s door kits bring further character and interest to a home, with its solid hardwood batten door kits manufactured from character oak, American black walnut or tulipwood, which is excellent for paint finishes.

Kits come with a number of choices, such as single or double cockbead, V groove or studded finish, and optional extras such as diagonal braces. Extra boards can be ordered for non standard sizes.

The flooring and doors are enhanced by a wide range of skirting mouldings and profiles. These are available ex-stock or to your design in a choice of woods.

Recently, John Boddy expanded its range to include cladding, decking and timber frame buildings. These timber framed builds are fantastic to make the most of your outside space, creating a new, comfortable room to accommodate a gym, garden room or home office, and are increasingly popular for house builds.

John Boddy will supply a timber frame cut to size from your draft plan or drawing. The frame’s construction time is reduced by the fact that the numbered timber sections are pre-bored ready for fixing, before being delivered to your door.

It’s a great time to visit John Boddy with prices reduced by

up to 25 per cent.
