Pages from York­shire history sell at auc­tion

A TEN­NANTS book sale pro­duced some in­ter­est­ing York­shire lots. An 1844 man­u­script re­lat­ing to the Hud­der­s­field and Manch­ester Rail­way and Canal Com­pany fetched £564 (in­clud­ing pre­mium), an archive of 18th cen­tury manuscripts con­cern­ing Lord Gran­tham of Newby Hall, near Bor­ough­bridge, £648, An History of Rich­mond­shire in the North Rid­ing of the County of York (1823) £352, 170 pieces of ephemera re­lat­ing to Harrogate, in­clud­ing broad­sides, bill heads, letters, cer­tifi­cates and other doc­u­ments £223, a 1610 map of the West Rid­ing and “the fayre Ci­tie [of] Yorke” £705 and an al­bum of North York­shire-re­lated post­cards £329.

Another snip­pet from Ten­nants.... all auc­tions are now live with in­ter­net bid­ding. Pre­vi­ously, clients were able to bid online only for fine art and spe­cial­ist sales.
