Those not familiar with Agatha Christie’s output probably think that her work begins and ends with Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. But how wrong they are. Christie wrote a variety of books and short stories that featured neither of them, as well as four novels and a collection of tales featuring the adventures of Tommy and Tuppence Beresford, a pair of married amateur detectives. They’re being brought vividly to life in this 1950s-set series starring David Walliams and Jessica Raine, which mixes espionage, drama and humour against the backdrop of the Cold War.

A novel success: Jessica Raine and David Walliams star.
