Man with du vin

-

With summer around the corner, it’s time to top up your wine rack and support your local independents.

With two Bank Holidays ahead as well as the prospect of better weather, it is time to scrape off the barbecue and add sausages, spare ribs and steak to your home delivery shopping. Of course you won’t be able to invite the neighbours which might turn out to be a advantage. You can fill their garden with as many fabulous aromas as you like and clatter your cutlery without feeling guilty.

Getting the right wines in stock for your barbecue may involve a little more planning than usual. No one wants to have to nip out to the local off-licence or supermarket.

The best option is to talk to your local wine merchant who has been busy all through the crisis, making sure that they have sufficient stock. Not only are they up early taking deliveries, they then spend most of the day taking customer orders before loading up their vans and heading out to deliver to you. All have now got the hang of delivering to garden gates, sheds or just leaving boxes on the doorstep, without needing a signature. We have some of the best independent wine merchants in the country. Depending on where in the county you live, here are some suggestions of who to contact and what to buy.
