Orlando Murrin is a respected food writer and president of the Guild of Food Writers in the UK and was also editor of BBC Good Food for six years, so he certainly knows a thing or two about food and recipe writing, something which shines through in this book. As the title suggests, it is about cooking for two but not just by scaling down recipe quantities. The book is stacked with tricks of the trade, tips and suggestions for making food for two that could come only from a cook of Orlando’s calibre. Many recipes at first look long, but that’s the meticulous detail in the writing.

This book is a classic in the making having the gift to instil confidence in the novice cook and inspire the more experienced.
