Dear Style Clinic

I have had a look in my wardrobe and, although I have so many clothes, I feel I have nothing that I really want to wear. How could I inject a bit of new style and zest into how I dress?

Now is the time to reassess what is going on in our wardrobe, and one of my many New Year’s resolutions has been to do exactly that, looking where I can to upcycle and repurpose pieces to give them new life, so that I can wear them in different ways (there will be expert help on how to do this in my future fashion features).

The SS22 collections are beginning to make their way into stores and there will be new drops throughout spring, so it is also a great time to keep popping into town to take a look at fresh updates.

Knitwear is going to be a key theme for spring and into the summer, and this frill-shoulder cardigan from the And/Or range at John Lewis is a lovely way to inject an easy yet striking touch, pairing it with jeans, or with any length and shape of skirt, or simply throwing over the loose printed midi dresses we have all become so fond of, perhaps with chunky boots for early season.

The pleated midi skirt is a must-have piece for SS22, and this style from Tu will team well with the cardigan and with many other colours, thanks to its neutral-toned animal print.

Finally, a new bag has to be the easiest way to elevate your everyday outfits. I love this nude soft and squashy handbag from Kin at John Lewis, and it’s a great price for an accessory that will work with everything.
