Bright ideas
What will the best-dressed bathrooms be wearing this year? Ripon-based UK Bathrooms reveals all.
■ Green is the colour in every shade from emerald to forest. Try green tiling on your walls or floor or a bold wallpaper with green hues to bring your bathroom up to date. Farrow and Ball recently unveiled its top five colours for 2022 and that includes Breakfast Room Green, which is very cheerful.
■ Biophilia is here to stay and, of course, it’s green in every sense of the word. Graeme Borchard, MD of UK Bathrooms, says: “I’ve been an avid fan of biophilia for some time now and I’m pleased to say that the trend for biophilic bathrooms is going to continue in 2022.
“Our bathrooms are busy places, we start and end each day here but whilst busy there is also a growing need for our bathroom to be a haven, a place to relax and reduce our stress levels.
“A biophilic bathroom uses real plants to introduce nature, not only do they help us to de-stress, they also help to purify the air.”
■ Wooden floor tiles are a key trend for 2022 and add warmth and more natural materials into the bathroom.
■ Black is back. Use black furniture or accessories or make a real statement with a free-standing black bath.
Leading traditional bathroom brands such as Burlington and Imperial have recently launched their black bathroom collections which includes bathroom basins, WCs and furniture.
