Home grown
At first glance, this “All Tomorrow’s Futures” fabric design by the artist Alexis Snell for Yorkshire-based The Monkey Puzzle Tree, is a joyful depiction of the natural world. However, hidden in the pattern is a subtle message about humankind’s impact on the planet as swallows morph into aeroplanes and factory fumes mingle with skulls and snakes. The pattern was screen printed at a mill in Cumbria on to cotton-linen. It costs £147 per metre and comes in three colourways, including blue, green and orange. www.themonkeypuzzletree.com
