West Yorkshire kitchen and interior specialist KC Design House is celebrating after a member of its team gained the prestigious title of ‘Young Designer of the Year’.
Charlotte Jewkes, a KC senior designer, was awarded the top industry accolade by The Kbsa, which sets the standard for kitchen, bathroom and bedroom retailers across the UK.
The award entry comprised a full lifestyle kitchen project at a Holmfirth property that demonstrated Charlotte’s ability to push design boundaries whilst keeping to her clients’ ‘wish list’. The result was a spectacular yet functional interior space that enhanced the clients’ environment as well as their day-to-day living.
Just as with all KC Design House projects, the bespoke design evolved through a number of home visits and detailed design meetings, taking into account not only the structural elements of the space but also the homeowners’ lifestyle, cooking approach and needs.
Working on all elements, from surveying through the room design and interior styling, the client described the finished space created by Charlotte as “life-changing”.
Charlotte beat off stiff competition to top The Kbsa’s ‘Young Designer of the Year 2021’ award category, which aims to highlight the exceptional talent of independent UK kitchen and bathroom retailers.
Commenting on her win, she said: “Through listening and applying our detailed design process, we were able to interpret and fulfil our clients’ brief, and for me personally, it was most rewarding to see them enjoying their new lifestyle space.
