The penultimate round of Yorkshire League fixtures proved to be decisive in deciding the winners of each of the three divisions. York A and Leeds fielded strong sides for their titledecider but York scored a crushing 6-2 victory. Calderdale’s loss away to Hull A by the same score ended their chances of lifting the title with York being crowned champions with a round to spare. At the other end, Harrogate A bolstered their survival hopes with a draw against Huddersfield, and move a point ahead of York B, who lost against Bradford.
Rose Forgrove’s procession to the IM Brown title was confirmed with a 4.5-3.5 victory over Calderdale B. York C and West Leeds are all but relegated although their games in hand give them a theoretical chance of survival. Ilkley Dragons secured the Silver Rook title with victory over their B team, Ilkley Knights. Either Huddersfield & Holmfirth or Alwoodley B could bag the second promotion spot in the final round of fixtures.
