Britain’s Top Takeaways

Britain’s Top Takeaways is a new series presented by Sara Cox and Darren Harriott. A disused factory in Manchester has been transformed into a kitchen where five innovative takeaways will compete to deliver some of the finest take-outs in the country.

Expect a battle of burgers, noodles, pizzas, Indian, fried chicken, kebabs – and there’s even a Mexican showdown.

Judging the food and deciding who wins will be a host of takeaway-loving families who will eat, rate and score the food from the comfort of their own homes.

Monday’s first episode is Fish and Chip night when five of the nation’s top-rated chip shops will roll into Manchester for the ultimate fry-off, including father and daughter Adam and Amber from Hirds’ Family Fisheries in Huddersfield.

Other future episodes with Yorkshire entries include Best Indian, which will feature Waqar and Mio who run a Bradford favourite, the Sweet Centre Indian takeaway, that even the Queen has tried, and Best Burger, where Ollie and Danny from Dope Burger in Hull, who are famous for serving patties on rainbow bagels, will be vying for top spot.
