Paint inspiration and advice for the befuddled

- By Sharon Dale How to Redecorate, £35, is published by Mitchell Beazley.

FOLLOWING in the footsteps of the bestselling book How to Decorate, the Farrow & Ball creative team is back with the newly published How to Redecorate.

With more than 340 photographs and illustrations, it is packed with down-toearth decorating advice on everything from which white to use with which colour, how to select a neutral palette and easy-to-follow ways to create schemes for any room.

The authors are Joa Studholme and Charlotte Cosby. Colour Curator Joa has worked with Farrow & Ball for more than 25 years and has become a key part of the brand’s story. She helped launch the first showroom, became the first Colour Consultant and has created many of the paint colours that have become firm favourites with Farrow & Ball’s legion of fans. As well as introducing new colours, Joa’s role focuses on showing people the power of paint to transform a space.

Creative Director Charlotte Cosby has worked with Farrow & Ball for the past 17 years and is responsible for its creative direction, including product development, brand identity, photography and showroom design.

For those who, like me, are flummoxed by the vast array of choice of paint colours and wallpapers available these days, Joa says: “Decorating your home should be joyful. Without doubt, the most important thing is to use colours that you really love and feel comfortable with. There are certainly no fixed rules, so the ideas in this book are here not so much to influence, but to inspire, and to help you bring your vision to life.”

?? ?? INSPIRING: Use colours you really love to spruce up your home, says Joa Studholme.
