Dance On with Yorkshire Dance:

Since 2018, Yorkshire Dance has run Dance On sessions for older adults across Leeds and Bradford. This ambitious programme is a partnership with darts (Doncaster Community Arts) and One Dance UK, supported by researchers at the University of Leeds. Participants report that sessions improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing and the Dance On team has now launched a new Toolkit to share their pioneering approach to increasing health and wellbeing through dance. The new Dance On Toolkit is a free, downloadable resource. Yorkshire Dance has secured a new grant from National Lottery Community Fund which, with financial support from Leeds Public Health and Bradford District Council, will help fund the Dance On programme for the next three years. The toolkit can be downloaded via yorkshiredance.com

Kirklees Music Cities Forum:

As part of the Music Industry strand of Kirklees Year of Music 2023, the district is hosting the Kirklees Music Cities Forum alongside Music Cities Events. The forum will explore the theme A Community that Lives and Loves Music and takes place on November 14 at Smile Bar and Venue in Huddersfield. The event will bring together experts and industry professionals to explore the role and impact of music and will look ahead to what’s next as the Kirklees Year of Music draws to a close. The event is open to everyone working in the music industry, music development and policymaking in Kirklees.
