YORKSHIRE-BASED Dowsing & Reynolds sparked a lighting and lighting accessories revolution when it launched with its own design products and, although there have been copycats over the years, it’s fair to say that no-one does it better.
The company, which has its headquarters in Leeds, has a number of iconic designs and among its best selling are the bubble chandeliers.
Pictured here is the medium-size frosted bubble chandelier with 24 glass baubles, gold-plated steel chains, a gold bulb holder and a gold ceiling rose in gold electroplated brass.
It’s a true statement light with a price tag of £800. An even bigger version with 40 bauble lights and 40 chains retails at £1,200 and there has been no shortage of buyers.
If your budget doesn’t stretch that far, then check out the gold frosted Bubble wall light. It retails at £169. This includes seven frosted glass baubles, a gold ceiling rose, bulb holder, one four-point hook, a threepoint hook, screws, rawl plugs and instructions plus a frosted globe bulb.
For the uninitiated, Dowsing & Reynolds also specialises in light switches in a range of colours and materials that make my bog standard white ones look dismal.
It also designs its own door handles and hardware, along with taps, showers and towel rails and faux foliage. The latter includes a realistic looking faux olive tree in the sale for £68.99 down from £136.99.
Finally, there’s also a collection of carefully chosen wallpaper, including some by another great Yorkshire business, the Monkey Puzzle Tree.
