Johnny Vegas: Carry on Glamping Channel 4, 9pm
Cast your mind back to 2021.
Channel 4 launched a series in which Johnny Vegas attempted to set up his own glamping site, which he hoped to populate with renovated and reconstructed vintage vehicles. The result was perhaps one of the most surprisingly compelling shows of the year, one that introduced us to his long-suffering best friend and assistant Bev. It’s taken a while to come to fruition, but now the duo are back for a second run. It follows Johnny and Bev’s efforts to move from the project’s temporary base near Harrogate to a new site - providing they can find one. They begin by scouting around Jimmy Doherty’s Farm and Wildlife Park in Suffolk, whose owner is a little sceptical about Johnny’s business plan.
Murder Trial: The Killing of Dr Brenda Page BBC2, 9pm
On July 14, 1978, the body of 32-yearold genetics expert Brenda Page was discovered on a blood-stained bed in her home in Aberdeen. It was clear she had been the victim of a terrifying attack, but for 45 years, it appeared that her killer had literally gotten away with murder. However, that all changed in March last year when Page’s ex-husband, retired research scientist Christopher Harrisson, was found guilty of the crime, which took place a year after the couple’s divorce; Harrisson is expected to die behind bars. Now we’re about to learn how Det Insp Gary Winter and his colleagues at Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team finally gained a conviction after reopening what had been a cold case in 2015.
