Ecclesiastical pecking order

-

From: Iain Morris, Shipley.

IN your front page story on the Church of England ( The Yorkshire Post, May 10), you twice make mention of “Leeds and Ripon” when the diocese is in fact the diocese of Ripon and Leeds.

The historic Ripon Cathedral – Leeds has never had an Anglican cathedral – stands on what I believe is one of the most ancient Christian sites in the country, which will, of course, pre-date the Church of England by many centuries.

WHY is everybody saying “myself” and “yourself”? Simply say “me” and “you” please, don’t mangle the language. Is Chris Evans to blame?
