The vital questions

THE UK has the potential to build world-beating businesses, but it could try harder. This was the key message from the Summit conference.

Three hundred business leaders were asked: “Do UK entrepreneurs have enough belief to build world-beating businesses?”

64 per cent said yes and 36 per cent said no.

“Is the London effect good or bad for British business?”

74 per cent said good and 26 per cent said bad.

“What is the biggest barrier to growth?”

40 per cent said access to funding, 40 per cent access to talent and eight per cent said access to global markets.
