Devolution call for capital ‘city-state’

POLL: A London Labour MP has joined the race to be the party’s candidate for next year’s mayoral elections, with a call for more devolution of powers to the capital. Gareth Thomas said that London should be a recognised as a “city-state” in the same way as England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
