Watchdog’s probe over blaze death
DINNINGTON: South Yorkshire Police are being investigated over the way they responded to concerns for a man the day before he died in a fire.
Officers visited Robert Walton at his home in Meadow Street, Dinnington, on April 7 in response to concerns about his welfare. The 66-year-old was found dead following a fire at his home the following day.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission has now begun an investigation into the force’s response.
