Plane targeted with laser pointer

DONCASTER: Police are investigating after a laser pointer was shone at an aircraft as it approached Robin Hood Airport, near Doncaster.

The aircraft went on to land safely after being targeted as it flew over Appleby, north Lincolnshire, about 30 miles from the airport, at about 10pm on Monday.

Humberside Police are investigating the incident which officers have said could have had disastrous consequences.
