No inquiry over £170m HS2 deal
The Government has ruled out holding an inquiry after an engineering firm walked away from a £170m HS2 contract amid claims of conflicts of interest.
Transport Minister Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon insisted it was a matter for HS2 Ltd and pointed out the company had undertaken “a thorough review” into the issues raised. He was responding to a question by Liberal Democrat peer Baroness Randerson whether there would be a Whitehall investigation.
