Top speakers for town’s business summit

TIMES IS running out to get tickets to this year’s Doncaster Business Conference.

The Doncaster Chamber of Commerce-hosted event is expected to welcome 200 business leaders, politician­s and members of the media to debate the future of Doncaster’s future and consider how they can work together to transform good growth, into long-lasting sustainabl­e economic growth.

Ahead of the local elections on May 4, all six Doncaster Mayoral candidates will also enter into a debate on some of the key questions facing the local business environmen­t including immigratio­n, infrastruc­ture investment, employment and the skills set of the borough’s workforce.

Professor Kevin Kerrigan, Pro Vice-Chancellor Enterprise and Dean of the Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University, said: “The Doncaster Business Conference is a major opportunit­y to explore the opportunit­ies and challenges for education, city ambitions and democracy in Doncaster and the pivotal role that business will play in its future success.”

Keynote addresses will be delivered by Dr Adam Marshall, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, and Sir Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire.
