Start of summer road resurfacing

Work has begun laying 15,000 tonnes of stone chippings to resurface roads in 160 sites in the region – equivalent to more than 60 miles of continuous road. The annual programme costs £2.35m and involves spraying bitumen, spreading chippings on top, and using a roller to press them into the road.
