■ NAME: Nicola Adams.

■ BORN: Leeds, October 26, 1982.

■ BEGAN BOXING: Aged 12.

■ NICKNAMES: The Lioness; The Smiling Assassin.

■ EARLY CAREER: Won first bout at the age of 13. In 2001, became first woman boxer to represent England. In 2003, became English amateur champion for first time, and retained title at next three championsh­ips.

■ AMATEUR TITLES:

European Union champion (51kg) 2011, 2013, European champion 2011 (51kg), Olympic Games gold medallist (51kg) 2012 and retained title 2016 – first British boxer to defend an Olympic title in 92 years – Commonweal­th Games gold medallist (51kg) 2014, European Games gold medallist (51kg) 2015, World champion (51kg) 2016.

■ PROFESSION­AL CAREER: Joined paid ranks on January 23 – had a 40-36 points victory over Argentina’s Virginia Carcamo on debut at Manchester Arena on April 8.
