Plaque marks former airfield

HEDON: A plaque has gone up close to the airfield visited by Amy Johnson shortly after her famous flight to Australia. The plaque put up at the Kingstown Hotel by the Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust remembers the Hedon (Hull) airfield, which closed at the start of the Second World War and is now the subject of redevelopment plans.
