Haribo opens its first store in the UK to spread party message

-

CONFECTIONERY MANUFACTURER Haribo has launched its first outlet store in an attempt to showcase its party and sharing packs.

Haribo, which operates two manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire, one in Pontefract and one in Castleford, has opened a 1,440 sq ft unit at London Designer Outlet (LDO) in Wembley Park.

The new store will offer a selection of sweets that complement what is already on offer within the UK. It will also showcase Haribo’s party packs and sharing formats.

Haribo said family favourites will be on offer alongside a selection of its products from around the world.

Shoppers will also be able to purchase merchandise.

Herwig Vennekens, managing director of Haribo, said: “We are very excited to have opened our first outlet store, a decision that supports our continued success whilst also demonstrating just what the brand has to offer with regards to product and pack variety.

“Whilst this is a new concept for the UK, Haribo stores are very popular across Europe; in France we have 12, each offering an exclusive mix of treats and a glimpse into the happy world of Haribo.

“We certainly feel that LDO is the perfect place to open our first store here in the UK.”

Haribo is a family-owned business that was established in 1920. The company entered the UK market in 1972. The firm operates two manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire, which are home to more than 700 employees. It has 16 production sites across ten countries.

Fashion and lifestyle outlet centre LDO opened in October 2013.
