Caddick receives top safety record award
CADDICK CONSTRUCTION has been handed a prestigious award in recognition of the practices and achievements it has established to help people stay safe during the working day.
The company has achieved an Order of Distinction after securing 15 consecutive Golds in the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.
Caddick, which is currently developing Headingley Stadium and the SoYo development near Quarry Hill in Leeds, will be presented with the award during a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel in July.
The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as workforce involvement.
Andrew Murray, managing director at Caddick Construction, said: “Our aim is to provide a safe working environment for our employees, the operatives and visitors on our sites, the general public and other stakeholders affected by our operations.
“The robust systems we have in place demonstrate our commitment to delivering high quality construction projects, prioritising safety above all else. We’re delighted RoSPA has recognised this achievement for 15 years in a row and the Order of Distinction is a real testament to the hard working staff on each and every one of our sites.”
Caddick Construction and Caddick Civil Engineering are two of the operational arms of Caddick Group PLC, which employs almost 500 people and has a turnover of £90m.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”
The RoSPA Awards mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
We’re delighted that RoSPA has recognised this achievement. Andrew Murray, managing director at Caddick Construction
