Chief operating officer at pet drugs company Animalcare steps down

-

PET DRUGS firm Animalcare Group said that Iain Menneer has resigned and will step down from his role as chief operating officer with immediate effect.

No reason was given for his departure, but Chris Cardon, chief executive officer, said: “We thank Iain for all his work on the integration of Animalcare and Ecuphar.

“He leaves the business with our best wishes. We have the platform in place to create a leading Pan-European animal-health business.”

Mr Menneer joined York-based Animalcare in 2003 and initially worked in marketing and business development roles, working on the new product development pipeline bringing such products as Benazecare, Buprecare, Enrocare and Anivac through to commercialisation.

In addition, he assisted the development of Animalcare’s EU partner network. He was also product manager for existing licensed pharmaceuticals such as Aqupharm IV fluids and the antibiotics range.

He worked his way up through the UK business firstly in marketing then responsible for the UK operations as MD.

Last week the firm said 2018 earnings will fall below expectations.

The firm warned that due to a changing sales mix and competitive pressures, earnings – whilst still significantly ahead of the previous year – will be below market expectations for 2018.

The company said it expects to deliver incremental growth in 2018 earnings against its 2017 results, maintaining at least double digit growth.

It said 2017 revenues will show a year-on-year increase of around 9.5 per cent to £92m, slightly ahead of expectations.
