Extra data ‘could aid cancer survival’

HEALTH: Cancer survival could significantly improve if the NHS collected and used data more intelligently, a think tank has suggested.

Reform said the health service could be collecting far more information on cancer patients, including survival, treatment, patient experience and medical history. It said this could lead to improvements in the prevention of cancer, earlier diagnosis and effectiveness of treatment. It said extra data should be collected.
