Man, 71, attacked at training session

A group of youths attacked a male pensioner during a running club session.

Police were called to reports of an assault on a playing field off Colton Road, Whitkirk, Leeds, at about 7.20pm on Thursday.

The victim, 71, was taking part in an organised running group when the attack took place.

He was assaulted as a group of youths blocked the man’s path and he suffered facial injuries during the attack.
