Loneliness campaign events

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES are to be hosted along Yorkshire’s coast in coming weeks as part of a campaign to tackle loneliness.

Teams from North Yorkshire County Council, working on a project to share the contribution of older people, had been moved by stories of isolation.

Launching a Say Hello Coast Campaign, which will run through this month, the teams are to host cafe meetings, games events and a family fun day in Scarborough, Filey and Whitby.

The campaign sets out to emphasise how even saying hello someone can make a difference.
