63 names added to town’s memorial after campaign
THEIR NAMES have been carved with pride after a long-running campaign to recognise their valour.
And tomorrow the 63 ‘forgotten heroes’ of Bridlington will take pride of place in the town’s Remembrance ceremony.
After a painstaking search their names were carved into the memorial off Prospect Street to ensure their memories continue to live on more than a century after they fell.
Coun Liam Dealtry, who led the campaign to add them to the memorial, said: “In this year of the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, it’s nice to say the boys are home. We have tried our best to make sure all names are now recorded on the war memorial and apologise if any are still missing.”
