Money laundering crackdown praised
Britain’s efforts to tackle money laundering have been praised in a new report.
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) said the UK had achieved a “high level of effectiveness” in the way it deals with issues such as combating terrorist financing.
FATF, an inter-governmental body to which the UK belongs, was established to set standards to fight money laundering globally.
The study was welcomed by the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, John Glen.
