House fire claims the life of man, 76

SCOTLAND: A 76-year-old man has died in a house fire.

Emergency services were called to a building in Macduff, Aberdeenshire, at around 5am on Sunday morning.

But despite the efforts of both police and firefighters, the man died at the scene.

Neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution.
