Students’ artwork to feature in gallery

-

PUPILS AT an independent school in Yorkshire are to showcase their artistic talents in a gallery exhibition.

The Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, one of the favourites of famed Yorkshire artist David Hockney, has an area dedicated to his life and work. Now students at his former school, Bradford Grammar, are to display their own artwork in an exhibition which will be open to the public.

Sonja Kielty, Cartwright Hall curator, said: “It’s fabulous for Bradford Grammar School pupils to present their work in the place where David Hockney would often visit – the grand Edwardian art gallery across the road from his former school. It’s also a lovely opportunity for the school to support the arts locally and encourage more young people to get creative.”

The exhibition will run until January 6.
